CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — EbertFest has concluded its journey and is officially bidding farewell to Champaign.
According to Experience Champaign-Urbana, the film festival, which has been a staple in the community for over 25 years, contributed more than $10 million to the local economy. Beyond its financial impact, it instilled immense pride in the hometown of Roger Ebert, the trailblazing film critic who earned the distinction of being the first to receive a Pulitzer Prize in his field.
