SWAINSBORO, Ga. () – The Edenfield House has been a part of the Swainsboro community for years, and the bed and breakfast is showing the true meaning of hospitality.

In this episode of “Your Hometown Road Trip,” the team visited Edenfield House Inn in Swainsboro to speak with Co-owner David Quinn about the historic bed and breakfast.

What is the Edenfield House?

“It was built in, from what we understand, 1895. It’s the oldest running home in Swainsboro. The murals, as you can see behind us, these are from the 1930s. It’s been running as a bed and breakfast since 1986. So that’s a long time. It’s in Swainsboro. Swainsboro is the crossroads of the South. In its day, it used to be busy. We purchased it about two years ago. We’ve kept it the same. We run it as an old-school business.”

What is the community aspect here?

“The biggest part of our business is the locals. The town of Swainsboro, the people in Swainsboro, they keep us afloat. Yeah, it’s important. We’ve got a great community here.”

He added, “We do what we can for the community.’

Quinn shared stories with us about several situations the Edenfield House Inn has helped people.

“Christmas, April does an amazing job here at Christmas, decorating. People are welcome to come up and take their family photos. We don’t charge for that.”

Quinn said, “That’s what you do. We have a property that is part of the town of Swainsboro. So, people need to be able to utilize it. It’s not about making money. It’s about being part of the community, so we’re proud of that.”

Edenfield House Inn is located at 426 West Church Street in Swainsboro, Ga. You can follow Edenfield House Inn on their Facebook page for more.
