‘We still have a long road ahead;’ State Police identify suspect in Effingham hit-and-run

EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WCIA) — The Illinois State Police have named a suspect in connection with a hit-and-run incident in Effingham that left a woman hospitalized last month. The victim continues her journey toward recovery.

Authorities reported that on the night of September 28, 26-year-old Mia Hayden from Altamont was on her way home from work when a golf cart collided with her vehicle. The driver of the golf cart fled the scene immediately thereafter.
