EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WCIA) — If you need to make a water bill payment in Effingham on Monday, you may experience brief delays.

The City of Effingham Water Department has announced that their online payment portal will be temporarily unavailable Monday morning as they transition to a new and improved system. The city said the new portal will offer a smoother and more user friendly experience. It will also have more payment options.

If you need to make a payment online, you’ll need your account number and customer bill. You can find this information on your postcard bill, or by calling the office at 217-342-2366.

The City of Effingham added that they appreciate the community’s patience at this time. For more information, visit the City of Effingham’s Facebook page or email them at UtilityBilling@EffinghamIL.com.
