EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WCIA) — A young man from Effingham has been taken into custody following a stabbing incident that left the victim in need of urgent medical attention across multiple hospitals.
The Effingham Police Department reported that the incident occurred late Monday night, May 25. At around 11:30 p.m., they received calls about a stabbing in the 500 block of North Henrietta Street. Upon reaching the scene, officers discovered a victim suffering from a stab wound to the torso. The victim was swiftly transported by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital.
