After countless hours of investigation in the streets of Johnston and Edgefield, conducting interviews, and reviewing lengthy videos, our investigators are ready to close the case on this shooting incident. All the participants that played a criminal part in the incident have been identified and warrants have been obtained. As of this writing, all but one have been arrested.

Thank you to our investigation team, our partners at the Edgefield Police Department, and the Eleventh Circuit Solicitors Office for helping us make our streets safer.

Mysterious Morton – WANTED

In all my years of service I have never seen an incident of this magnitude that was more senseless than this. It appears that for no meaningful reason, other than these two groups arguing on social media and making derogatory statements about each other, violence spilled into the street after the groups planned and organized a meeting to fight it out in Edgefield. At least one female brought a knife and at least one male from each group brought a gun. This street justice mentality resulted in two wounded, one critically and all participants are simply lucky to be alive.

Unfortunately, I do not think the totality of this incident means anything to the groups. One even made Facebook posts from the Intensive Care Unit shortly after hours of surgery to save her life. I look forward to their day in court.

I’m asking for you to help us locate and bring in last wanted individual, Mysterious Morton.

Two people were charged with Attempted Murder:

The other suspects were charged with Breach of Peace:
