Eight Suspects Arrested in Colleton County Crackdown on Violent Crime Network

COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. – A collaborative probe has resulted in charges against eight people, comprising six adults and two minors, for their roles in a series of violent offenses across Colleton County.

This extensive investigation saw participation from multiple agencies:

  • The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO)
  • The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED)
  • Walterboro Police Department (WPD)
  • The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).

The suspects faced charges after being linked to a string of drive-by shootings. Investigators from the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office have issued 37 felony warrants, uncovering evidence tied to 10 distinct incidents, with further evidence pertaining to six additional cases.

Confiscated items from the investigation include:

  • 22 firearms, including four equipped with switches converting them to fully automatic, and one full-auto rifle sear
  • More than 1,500 rounds of assorted ammunition seized
  • Four stolen vehicles recovered
  • 42 grams of methamphetamine
  • 502 grams of marijuana
  • 2 grams of crack cocaine

Authorities have also secured six more firearms, increasing the total number of confiscated weapons to 28.
