Empowering Partners: Champaign Firefighter Spouses Undergo Rigorous Training to Support Their Heroes

MAHOMET, Ill. (WCIA) — Partners of Champaign Fire Department firefighters were given an insightful glimpse into their loved ones’ daily duties during the department’s annual Fire Ops event.

On Saturday, numerous participants gathered at the Cornbelt Fire Protection District in Mahomet for a day of immersive, hands-on training.

“Engaging directly in live fire exercises and learning about various techniques, such as victim extraction and ladder operations, was enlightening,” shared Lisa Rector.
