COLUMBIA, S.C. (WSPA) – In 2026, South Carolina will see the implementation of several significant laws passed in 2025 by state legislators and signed by Governor Henry McMaster. These new regulations are poised to bring changes to educational environments, transportation systems, and community safety statewide.
“Last year, we tackled crucial issues such as fentanyl regulation, retail theft, and internet crimes, with many statutes targeting the protection of children,” said House Speaker Murrell Smith (R – Sumter). “We also advanced school choice legislation for a second consecutive year, which is now in effect and yielding positive outcomes.”
