SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Marsh Regional Blood Center will receive blood donations from first responders and people across the Tri-Cities region in May and June.

Starting May 7, Battle of the Badges events will take place, allowing fire departments, police departments, sheriff’s offices and EMS agencies to go head-to-head in a blood donation competition.

All blood donations made at the event are attributed to a local first responder group, whether they come from an actual first responder or a citizen of the area. All donors will receive a T-shirt from the event, and walk-in donations are welcome.

In order to give blood, donors must weigh 110 pounds or more, be at least 17 years old and be in overall good health. Anyone planning to donate is encouraged to eat beforehand.
