Former American Idol finalist to host family dinner giveaway

SAVANNAH, Ga. () — A former American Idol finalist is hosting a free family dinner giveaway in Georgetown.

Savannah native Stephanie Edwards-Young was the eleventh-place finalist on the sixth season of American Idol. Today, she is the owner of Uniek Tents & Events LLC in Savannah, where she wishes to give back to the community.

Edwards-Young will be hosting a free family dinner giveaway for the families affected by the closure of International Paper. This non-profit event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Friendly Marketplace parking lot in Georgetown, from 3 p.m. until food supplies last.

Each dinner will include one meat choice and three sides:

  • A slab of ribs or 8 pieces of chicken.
  • Macaroni and cheese.
  • Vegetarian baked beans (no ground beef).
  • Green beans cooked with smoked turkey

Families attending will need to show an International Paper credential upon arrival.
