STATESBORO, Ga. () — The Georgia Southern Eagles began spring practice sessions Tuesday, March 4, to prepare for the 2025 season.

Former Benedictine star running back Bryce Baker was among those players.

Last season, Baker opted to begin his career at Georgia Southern with a redshirt year, so he will begin this season with four years of eligibility remaining as a redshirt freshman.

Baker was a dominant force in the Coastal Empire at Benedictine. In his senior season, he totaled nearly 1,000 all-purpose yards and 18 touchdowns. He also was a part of two state titles during his time in the 400.

Now, he says he’s looking to represent the area strongly at the next level.

“Savannah is everything to me because that’s where I grew up,” said Baker. “It’s a blessing to be at this point and put the city on my back.”

The Eagles open the 2025 season on the road against Fresno State on August 30th.
