Ex-FBI Agent Warns of Potential Grim Outcome in Search for...

In an unsettling twist to the disappearance of retired Air Force Maj. Gen. William Neil McCasland, newly revealed details raise concerns about the likelihood of his safe return. According to a former FBI special agent, these revelations paint a grim picture for the 68-year-old’s situation.

Recently obtained audio from a 911 call, made by his wife Susan Wilkerson, has provided more insight into the circumstances surrounding McCasland’s departure. On February 27, he left their Albuquerque, New Mexico home on foot, carrying a sidearm.

“I have some indication that he must have planned not to be found,” Wilkerson revealed, pointing to the health issues McCasland had been experiencing as a possible factor.

Jennifer Coffindaffer, a contributor to NewsNation’s law and justice segment, highlighted that McCasland conspicuously left behind key personal items. He reportedly did not take his wallet, phone, tracking device, or even his glasses, further complicating the search for him.

“I truly believe he left in this situation not to be found again,” she told NewsNation Prime on Saturday.

Based on the known facts, Coffindaffer said she doesn’t put much stock into speculation that McCasland was targeted because of his past involvement with secret government programs that may have included UFOs and “unidentified anomalous phenomena,” or UAPs.

“He left seemingly, completely on his own accord. As I said, he took a gun with him. He didn’t take his glasses, and I think that that was because he knew he would not need them,” she said.

Missing Air Force general’s wife told 911 he ‘planned not to be found’

“My husband is missing. It’s been about three hours, and I have some indication that he must have planned not to be found,” Wilkerson told a 911 dispatcher in audio obtained by the Law&Crime Network. “I think he’s on foot. All of our cars and bicycles are in the garage.”

Wilkerson told the dispatcher that she had left for a doctor’s appointment and returned about an hour later to find her husband gone.

She noted that his phone was turned off and left behind, which she explained “seems kind of deliberate because he’s always got his phone.”

Authorities have said they believe that a firearm, holster, wallet and hiking boots were missing from the house.

Wilkerson explained that her husband had never done anything “remotely like it before” and “doesn’t generally” carry a weapon. She did note that he’d been “saying if his brain and body keep deteriorating, he doesn’t want to live like that.”

“It seemed to me that was just a, ‘Man, I hate how this is going’ kind of thing. Because I told him, ‘Yes, you do. Yes, you do,’” she added.

Another argument: McCasland targeted for his UFO knowledge

In contrast, investigative journalist Ross Coulthart, has leaned into the idea that McCasland may have met with foul play because of the trove of sensitive information he acquired over the course of his career. He says the retired major general was considered an advocate for sharing UAP information with the public.

Divulging classified knowledge has long been seen as a dangerous move for former government employees or contractors.

Marik Von Rennenkampff, who worked in the State Department during the Obama administration, says insiders who have weighed disclosing information about UAPs have felt pressured to keep quiet or face potential harm.

He said McCasland’s “stature and the level of the secrets that he had access to, prior to his separation from government, make this extremely concerning.”

McCasland retired from the service in 2013. During his tenure in the Air Force, he oversaw classified space programs and was head of research at Wright Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio. That facility has long been rumored to house fragments of extraterrestrial debris from Roswell, N.M

“The fact that Gen. Neil McCasland has disappeared off the face of the earth is a grave national security crisis for the United States of America. This is a man with some of the most sensitive secrets of the United States in his head,” Coulthart has said.

Longtime McCasland friend baffled by Feb. 27 disappearance

The various theories don’t bring much comfort to some of McCasland’s friends.

“I’m just totally mystified. I have no understanding whatsoever how you can walk out your front door and vanish,” Sherman McCorkle told NewsNation. “Nothing makes any sense.”

The Albuquerque tech developer said he first met the personable McCasland in the early 2000s when the officer ran a space vehicles program at Kirtland Air Force Base. He said many were impressed by McCasland’s intelligence.

“If there was a room full of people, everybody would gravitate toward him,” McCorkle said.

McCasland is one of several scientists or defense personnel linked with sensitive scientific fields who recently have died or gone missing. McCorkle said he’s not sure what to make of that.

“My goodness. You couldn’t make up a story like that, could you?” he said.
