
URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — A former officer of the University of Illinois Police Department has been sentenced to over 20 years in prison following his conviction for sexual assault.
Jerald Sandage, aged 55, appeared in court on Friday to receive his sentence, coming six weeks after a jury found him guilty on two charges of criminal sexual assault. During a 90-minute hearing, Judge Roger Webber handed down a 25-year prison term, according to the Champaign County State’s Attorney’s Office.
