SAVANNAH, Ga. () – Five suspects have now been identified, caught and put behind bars in the connection to the deadly Oglethorpe Mall shooting.
The latest, apprehended Saturday is Theron Robbins.
Robbins was caught in Newington two days before his 20th birthday, nearly an hour away from Savannah, in home on Redfield Road by deputies from the Screven County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO).
Deputies said he was found hiding in a closet.
The Savannah Police Department (SPD) quickly identified Robbins as a suspect and issued an arrest warrant after the July 5 arrest of Aujawan Hyman.
It was not until Friday, July 18, that SPD publicly identified Robbins and asked the community for help in finding his location.
The next day SCSO located him around 5 p.m. after a tip.
Robbins has a criminal history dating back to May 2023 where he was charged with illegal pistol or revolver possession under the age of 18, reckless conduct, willful obstruction of law enforcement officers and making false statements or writings.
Robbins is being held in Chatham County Jail without bond facing murder and aggravated assault charges.
