AUGUSTA, Ga. () – In Augusta’s Vineland neighborhood, the Super Bowl is more than just a football game.
“I think it’s exciting, and I’m rooting for Kansas. They’re both good teams,” said Patti Batten.
Kansas would be the Kansas City Chiefs versus the Philadelphia Eagles. Both are the top teams in their conferences, and they like that in Vineland.“My enjoyment of the game is the precision of the teams,” said David Batten.
Vineland is ready for a good game so who do they want to win well the word on the streets it should be the Chiefs.
“Hopefully a Philadelphia win,” said Joshua Wolcoll.
Wait a second… if you know Vineland, you know this there’s a theme to the neighborhood streets names, like Seminole, Cherokee, Comanche, and last Mohican – all names of great native American Tribes so…
“And every great American Tribe had a leader called?”
“A Chief,” said Joshua.
“And living in Vineland, you should be rooting for?”
“Chiefs,” said Joshua.
“Are you?”
“No,” said Josh.
So what in the Hiawassee is going on here in Vineland? You’ve got the streets so naturally rooting for the Chiefs should follow, but residents say there are other signs here as well.
“Well there’s a few red tail hawks that fly up here that are related to the eagles so that’s who I’m going for,” said David.
They should have rooting interest for one of the teams in the Super Bowl, but if they do we didn’t learn it on these streets.
