Diving in: When do Central Illinois pools open?

CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) — The days are getting longer, the temperatures are getting hotter, and Memorial Day is quickly approaching, which means that summer is almost here.

If you’re hoping to catch a tan, or splash around in Central Illinois, read on below to find out when your local pool opens this summer:

May 24

  • Champaign
    • Sholem Aquatic Center
  • Urbana
    • Crystal Lake Park Family Aquatic Center
  • Rantoul
    • Hap Parker Family Aquatic Center
  • Tuscola
    • Ervin Park Pool
  • Decatur
    • Splash Cove
  • Springfield

    • Shelbyville Family Aquatic Center

May 26

  • Charleston
    • Rotary Community Aquatic Center
  • Monticello
    • Monticello Family Aquatic Center

As of May 14, the Arthur Community Swimming Pool and the Farmer City Pool opening dates have not been officially set. WCIA also reached out to the Danville Park District to find out when their pool opens for the summer but did not immediately receive a response back.

On May 2, the Paxton Park District announced that the start of theirĀ 2025 pool season would be delayed. And in Gibson City, WCIA’s partners at the Ford County Chronicle reported that the community swimming pool will open in early June.
