COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. () – Columbia County Deputies responded to a home in Martinez for an alleged sexual assault.

35-year-old Jason Dutton was arrested after the victim said that Dutton, a “close family friend”, raped her.

Reports say Dutton stayed at the home after a July 4th celebration because he drank too much. He was placed on the couch around 2:00 am, then the homeowners went to bed.

Dutton allegedly went to the victim’s room touched her genitals, performed oral sex, and penetrated her with his finger.

The victim told her parents about the alleged incident, and Dutton was made to leave.

When deputies spoke to the victim’s brother, he said he went to sleep in the same room as the victim and woke up in a different room. He reportedly told them he was moved in the middle of the night.

Dutton is charged with Aggravated Sodomy and remains in the Columbia County Jail.
