TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Fans flooded Raymond James Stadium Saturday night wearing their best red, black, white and orange for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers preseason home opener.
“We are Buc fans, we going to stay Bucs fans, one hundred percent Bucs fans that’s why we are season ticket holders, let’s do it,” said Kalvin Munlyn of Lakeland.
The Bucs started their preseason with a face-off against the Tennessee Titans.
“Young guys need to show what they got so they can get a spot on the field. This shows what we’re going to be prepared for in the rest of the season,” said Robert Keith, who has been a season ticket holder for 15 years.
Though outcomes of games during the preseason do not count, for some fans, Saturday’s opener was the beginning of a family tradition.
“The most… the most ‘dad proud moment’ is to be able to bring my oldest son to his very first game,” said Donnie Swancie.
Fans could not contain their excitement for the entire season with hopes to make it all the way to the end.
“The Bucs have to win this year, we got our offense back, we got a strong defense,” said James Berger. “I have to watch them win and go all the way to the Super Bowl.”
The Buc’s next preseason game will be Aug. 16 at Acrisure Stadium against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The team will then play the Buffalo Bills at home Aug. 23.
