COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. () — The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on I-95 in Colleton County Tuesday.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m., Corporal Nick Pye said. It is unclear how many vehicles were involved as of 10:15 p.m.
I-95 southbound around the 41-mile marker is expected to be closed for an extended period of time. Officials asked that motorists avoid the area if possible and to expect delays.
A detour is in place.
You can follow the following directions per SCHP: “Exit I-95 South Exit 42, make a left on US 21, make a right on US 17A, turn left onto Salkehatchie Rd/Castle Hall Road (US17A detour in Yemassee for construction), turn right on US 17, merge back onto I-95 at the 33-mile marker.”
