PIATT COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — A Piatt County man is still recovering from a motorcycle crash last week that left him hurt and killed his father.

WCIA previously reported that Thomas Brittenham and his son Morgan were driving together on Piatt County Highway 7 Monday night. Morgan’s motorcycle collided with his father’s and the two vehicles crashed.

64-year-old Thomas did not survive, passing away 11 hours later.

41-year-old Morgan, meanwhile, is still in the hospital almost two weeks after the crash. His brother said Morgan is in stable condition, but he has a long road of recovery ahead.

“Please life our family up in prayer as we deal with the loss of our dad and care for our brother,” one of Morgan’s brothers asked in a statement to WCIA.

The Brittenham family has set up a memorial fund for Thomas at the State Bank of Bement.
