‘This just shouldn’t be OK’: Father of Polk paramedic injured in ambulance crash speaks out

POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office reported that both a first responder and the patient he was assisting remained critically injured on Wednesday night after a collision between an ambulance and a pickup truck.

John Parris, aged 32, is currently unconscious after undergoing several emergency surgeries. He is suffering from multiple fractures and a severe brain injury.
