FBI launches probe into Democratic lawmakers over video on illegal orders

The FBI has initiated an investigation concerning a group of six Democratic lawmakers who recently created a video asserting that military personnel are not required to comply with unlawful orders.

This inquiry follows former President Trump’s criticism, where he labeled the lawmakers as “traitors” and claimed the video exhibited “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!” Consequently, the FBI has begun scheduling interviews with the involved legislators.

Several of these lawmakers have confirmed they were contacted by the bureau.

Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.), who previously served as a CIA officer, commented on the development via the social platform X, stating, “Last night, the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division appeared to open an inquiry into me in response to a video he did not like.”
