FINDLAY, Ill. (WCIA) — Joren Davis of the Dirtworx MTB Fest joined WCIA’s Taylor Mitchell to talk about the upcoming event.
This mountain bike fest will include a weekend of camping and families coming down to Shelby County to visit the Lake Shelbyville area. The event will include two trail systems: the General Dacey Trail system and the Camp Camfield Trails system. The fest aims to give exposure to these two trail systems that locals may not know about.
This event is family and beginner friendly, as no experience is required to participate. Everybody attending pays a registration fee, but all of that money will go to back into the event to pay for the activities put on. Saturday night will include a catered barbecue meal, and two vouchers to bike shops will be given away totaling to $1,000.
Registration fees are as follows:
- Single – Ages 17 and up: $65
- All inclusive: camping, music, food and shirt
- Couple: $95
- All inclusive: Camping, music, food and shirt
- Kids – 16 and under: $20
- All-inclusive with paying adult; camping food voucher and shirt
The fest will take place from Sep. 19-21 at Lone Point Campground at 1653 2175 East Road in Findley just northeast of Shelbyville. For more information, visit their website.
