JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — An investigation by the Johnson City Police Department’s Special Victims Unit led a federal grand jury to indict a man on a child pornography charge.

According to the police department, officers arrested Ronnie Miller, 52, of Johnson City on April 15 and charged him with aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

The arrest was the result of a Special Victims Unit investigation into a tip received from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Sex Offender Registry.

Investigators discovered two cell phones, three memory cards, and three USB drives in Miller’s possession that contained images and videos of child sexual assault material, according to the police department. Further investigation allegedly revealed that Miller had more than 1,000 images of child sexual assault material.

A federal grand jury indicted Miller on Aug. on possession of child pornography involving a pre-pubescent minor or a minor under the age of 12 years old, according to police.

Miller remains jailed at the Washington County Detention Center.
