Federal Indictment Issued for Wanted Man from Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga. () — A man previously on the “Savannah’s Top 10 Most Wanted” list was indicted by a federal grand jury, U.S. Attorney for the Souther District of Georgia Margaret Heap said on Friday.

Ra’Quavius Rawls was indicted in the Southern District of Georgia for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

The Savannah Police Department (SPD) was tipped off that Rawls was in a gas station on July 24, 2024, and left in a vehicle as SPD arrived. Officers conducted a traffic stop and identified Rawls as the passenger.

After searching the vehicle, a firearm was discovered in the passenger side glove box.

The case is being investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives along with the Savannah Police Department. The case is being prosecuted for the United States by Special Assistant United States Attorney Makeia R. Jonese.
