Fifth Suspect Apprehended in Connection to Aiken County Teen’s Tragic Shooting Death

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. () – Authorities in Aiken County have apprehended a fifth individual connected to the tragic death of 17-year-old Kahlil Simmons.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office reported that the latest arrest involves a 16-year-old, who is now facing charges of murder, attempted murder, and weapon possession during the commission of a violent crime. The teenager is being detained at the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice.

This arrest follows the earlier detention of four individuals in relation to the shooting that took place on April 13th at the 100 block of Goodman Road in Jackson, South Carolina.

In the incident, 17-year-old Kahlil Simmons was fatally shot, and another victim, a 16-year-old, sustained injuries.

Additionally, two of the previously arrested suspects now confront extra charges stemming from the incident.

18-year-old Jared Grant Marsh II of Aiken is now charged with Murder, Attempted Murder, and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime.

17-year-old Tyler Hans Lariscey of Aiken is now charged with Murder and Attempted Murder.

The Sheriff’s Office has also charged 40-year-old Tarah Alexander and 40-year-old Bryan Alexander, both of Aiken, on charges of Accessory After the Fact to Murder.
