TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Florida Aquarium is once again earning recognition for being in the top 10 aquariums nationwide, snagging the No. 8 spot on a list carefully curated by USA Today’s 2025 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

This year marks the fifth consecutive year, and seventh overall, that the aquarium has received this commendation, making it the only aquarium in Florida to be honored this year.

“This is more than just a win for The Florida Aquarium—it’s a win for Tampa Bay,” said Roger Germann, president and CEO of The Florida Aquarium. “To be recognized year-after-year by our community and visitors nationwide is a powerful reminder that what we’re doing—whether it’s providing immersive experiences, engaging education initiatives, or driving marine conservation leadership—is making a real impact. We’re honored and deeply grateful to our guests and community who support us.”

The rankings were determined by a panel of travel experts who selected 20 aquariums from across the country based on their visitors’ experience, conservation efforts, and educational value. Public voting then decided the finalists.

This prestigious honor just so happens to coincide with the aquarium’s 30th anniversary, which is being celebrated throughout 2025 with various special offers and new experiences.
