(NEXSTAR) – The school year is quickly coming to an end, and before long, Florida families will be sweating out the summer together — and that means sharing more breakfasts, lunches and dinners with the kids.
Whether you’re looking to stop for a bite during a family road trip or a Saturday outing, it’s always good to know which restaurants are geared toward a meal with the kids — and Yelp just released its list of Top 100 Family-Friendly Restaurants of 2025 to get you on the right track.
As it turns out, the Sunshine State has not one but nine restaurants in Yelp’s national ranking — including a Gulf Breeze eatery that was named among the top 10 family-friendly restaurants in the U.S.
To determine this list, Yelp says its analysts first identified restaurant ratings with a large concentration of reviews that mentioned the phrase “family friendly.” Yelp’s analysts then ranked those businesses across a number of other factors, including total volume of reviews. Yelp also says this data is an “all-time” list, so the rankings are reflective of years and years of data.
Coming in at no. 5 nationally is Flounder’s Chowder House in Gulf Breeze. The seafood eatery sits on a beach overlooking the Santa Rosa sound. Yelpers write that adults can “chill and chat” while kids play at the restaurant’s dedicated playground or inside, at a small arcade.
Here are the rest of Florida’s most family-friendly restaurants:
| Rank | Restaurant | City |
| 19. | Shades Bar & Grill | Inlet Beach |
| 25. | Boxi Park | Orlando |
| 38. | The Big Cheese of Miami | Miami |
| 41. | Timoti’s Seafood Shak | Fernandina Beach |
| 46. | Dee’s Hang Out | Panama City Beach |
| 54. | Shells Seafood | St. Pete Beach |
| 56. | The Boathouse | Lake Buena Vista |
| 59. | V Pizza – Mandarin | Jacksonville |
Florida’s handful of family-friendly restaurants also includes Shades Bar & Grill, ranked no. 19 nationally, which is noted for its patio dining, live music, game day offerings and a popular Volcano Shrimp entree, which one Yelp reviewer called “to die for” last July. Meanwhile, Boxi Park in Orlando is an open-air container park offering live music, games, and a variety of surf and turf menu options.
As one Yelp reviewer summarized last year: “They have a kids’ area and beer on tap, if you’ve never been there. [You] should go!”
All in all, Florida’s nine entries were only threatened by one other state: Texas, which claims eight total rankings and three in Yelp’s top 10 — including the no. 1 most family-friendly restaurant in all of the U.S., per Yelp.
