PORT ST. JOHN, Fla. (WFLA)— A Florida man faces charges after a chaotic incident where he drove into a home’s front yard and subsequently stabbed two individuals, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
“This individual’s actions bring a whole new twist to the term ‘Home Wrecker,’” Sheriff Wayne Ivey remarked. “His crashing days are over, as he’s now on his way to spend some time at Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge!”
The drama unfolded as deputies initially responded to reports of a hit-and-run on Interstate 95 when they received another alert about a car plowing into a yard that matched the earlier vehicle description.
Upon arrival, deputies and the Florida Highway Patrol were met with a scene of distress, finding several people gathered outside. One individual was seen clutching their neck, attempting to stop bleeding after being stabbed by the driver involved in the crash.
According to deputies, the victims were inside when they heard a loud crash followed by a man running onto the back porch and then making his way through the sliding glass door.
The man, now identified as Jadarius West, began yelling and demanding the victim’s keys while heading to the kitchen and grabbing a knife.
West proceeded to cut one of the victims on the hand while the second victim ran to the area of the first victim in an attempt to get West out when they were cut on the neck.
The third victim was unharmed, but did fall over in the commotion while trying to get out of the house.
All three victims made it outside of the home, while West remained inside.
Deputies surrounded the area and prepared to get the suspect when he jumped out of a window and was quickly taken into custody, BCSO said.
“The victims were treated for their injuries and as for Jadarius West…well he made his way to the only place he belongs, which is behind bars at the Brevard County Jail!!” Sheriff Ivey said.
West was charged with:
- Armed Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling
“Thankfully, everyone in the residence made it out safely as the situation could have been much worse because of the ridiculous decisions by made by West!! One day he will run into the wrong house here in Brevard County and he won’t be going to the jail but instead the morgue after an armed citizen helps him understand that if you Mess Around In Brevard County You Find Out!!” Sheriff Ivey said.
