The Florida Lottery has reached a remarkable achievement, contributing over $50 billion to educational initiatives across the state of Florida.

In a recent announcement, it was revealed that as of January, the Florida Lottery has generated this substantial sum for the Florida Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.

“Achieving this $50 billion milestone showcases the dedication of our players,” expressed Florida Lottery Acting Secretary Reginald D. Dixon. “This accomplishment would not have been achievable without the consistent leadership of Governor Ron DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis over the past seven years. Their commitment to Florida’s students and families continues to inspire our mission. Every ticket purchased aids in funding classrooms, scholarships, and programs that empower students to realize their full potential.”

The funds are utilized to support public schools, higher education, and various scholarship opportunities, including the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship program, which aids in college education and technical training.

This milestone highlights the Lottery’s enduring commitment to Florida’s students and educators, having funded K-12 programs, classroom initiatives, and workforce training opportunities throughout the state since 1988, according to the Florida Lottery.

“From the very beginning, the Florida Lottery has been committed to generating revenue for education while maintaining the integrity of its games. From elementary classrooms to university scholarship programs, Lottery funds continue to empower students and support Florida’s educational infrastructure,” the Florida Lottery said.
