LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A man from Osteen is accused of firing a “warning shot” through a window at two Louisville Metro police officers while visiting family in Kentucky.
Tombe Thomas, 35, faces two counts of attempted murder of a police officer in the Dec. 28 shooting, according to his citation.
The document states officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Reutinlinger Avenue after a caller reported Thomas had barricaded himself at an AirBNB where he was staying with his girlfriend. Armed with a handgun, Thomas had allegedly barricaded himself in a bathroom, believing “there was someone inside his residence, whom his girlfriend had set up,” the citation states.
Police eventually knocked on the window of the bathroom and announced themselves shortly before Thomas allegedly fired a single shot through the window in the direction and near head-height of two officers, according to the document.
Thomas eventually left the bathroom and was taken into custody without incident, commenting that he “fired a warning shot” through the window, the citation states.
