HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A man from Hillsborough County found himself behind bars on Sunday morning after allegedly racing down I-4 at a staggering 154 mph.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Cirilo Rayo-Callejas, a resident of Plant City, was spotted by a trooper zipping through traffic in a Ford Mustang. Initially clocked at 95 mph, Rayo-Callejas was reportedly weaving between lanes without using signals, all on rain-slicked roads in the eastbound lanes near Tampa.
The arrest report reveals that when the trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Rayo-Callejas responded by flooring the accelerator, pushing the Mustang to reach a breathtaking speed of 154 mph. Following the incident, Rayo-Callejas was taken into custody, facing charges of reckless driving and dangerous speeding, and was subsequently transported to the Hillsborough County Jail.
