HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A man from Hillsborough County found himself behind bars on Sunday morning after allegedly racing down I-4 at a staggering 154 mph.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Cirilo Rayo-Callejas, a resident of Plant City, was spotted by a trooper zipping through traffic in a Ford Mustang. Initially clocked at 95 mph, Rayo-Callejas was reportedly weaving between lanes without using signals, all on rain-slicked roads in the eastbound lanes near Tampa.

The arrest report reveals that when the trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Rayo-Callejas responded by flooring the accelerator, pushing the Mustang to reach a breathtaking speed of 154 mph. With lights flashing and sirens wailing, the trooper managed to halt the speeding vehicle near U.S. 301.

Following the incident, Rayo-Callejas was taken into custody, facing charges of reckless driving and dangerous speeding, and was subsequently transported to the Hillsborough County Jail.

The charges listed in the arrest report are classified as misdemeanors.
