KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A deputy was hurt and another driver killed during a crash along the Florida Turnpike on Thursday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

In a release, troopers said the crash happened around 7:04 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway near mile marker 250 in Kissimmee.

Investigators explained that the crash involved an Orange County Sheriff’s Office truck and another car.

The truck driver — a deputy with the OCSO — was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, troopers reported.

Troopers announced that the northbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike have been blocked for the investigation. In the meantime, traffic is being diverted at Osceola Parkway.

No additional information has been provided at this time.
