ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida is set to unveil a new addition to its lineup of license plates, this time in celebration of the United States.
In anticipation of the nation’s 250th anniversary on July 4, 2026, the America 250 license plate will be made available to Florida residents starting this week.
“The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is thrilled to offer Floridians a special way to commemorate our country’s 250th birthday,” stated Executive Director Dave Kerner in a news release. “This plate symbolizes our collective pride in America’s history and underscores Florida’s connection to the nation’s legacy.”
Different from specialty plates, the America 250 plate is an alternative to Florida’s standard plate, with the usual fees applied, according to the news release. Drivers can choose the America 250 license plate when registering or renewing their vehicle registration.
