4 arrested on drug charges in Jenkins County

JENKINS COUNTY, Ga. () — Local law enforcement found several kinds of drugs and thousands of dollars in cash while executing search warrants in Jenkins County, an Effingham County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) spokesperson said.

Multiple agencies teamed up to execute two search warrants, one at the Sunset Inn and another at a home on Old Waynesboro Road.

They reportedly found several guns, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, cocaine, marijuana, multiple controlled substances, tools for distributing drugs and thousands of dollars in cash.

Marquette Wadley, Shavelle Lovette, Karen Summers and Artravious Adams were charged in connection to officials’ findings, the ECSO spokesperson said.

Lovette and Summers are charged with possession of methamphetamine, psilocybin, and other controlled substances with the intent to distribute, possession of the tools for the commission of a felony, use of a communication device to facilitate a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. 

Lovette, Summers and Adams were arrested at the Sunsett Inn. Adams was charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and possession of tools for the commission of a felony.

Wadley was arrested on Old Waynesboro Road and charged with possession of cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana with the intent to distribute. 

The ECSO Drug Suppression Unit, along with the Jenkins County Sheriff’s Office, Bryan County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit and Rincon Police Department K-9 Unit

Jenkins County Sheriff Robert Oglesby deputized ECSO investigators to assist with the investigation, a spokesperson said.
