AUGUSTA, Ga. () – The devastation from Hurricane Helene can still be seen across the CSRA. The landscape has changed. But a local company is trying to change that.
Jordan Trotter Commercial Real Estate held a tree giveaway today.

Around 700 trees were gone in a little over an hour to be planted and restore the beauty of Augusta after Hurricane Helene.

Jordan Trotter Commercial Real Estate wanted to give back to the community to help restore Augustas’s tree Canopy. The event was co-sponsored by Go Buy Plants. com. They offered White Oak. Red Oak, Magnolia, Elm, Sycamore, and Cedar trees on Saturday.  People who came to the event would stay in their cars while workers brought the trees to them.

“Our company is just very, very community-based,” said Dennis Trotter, Partner, Jordan Trotter Commercial Real Estate. “So, we need to give back whenever we can. We thought this was a great idea and one that we are passionate about as we’re trying to clean up our own houses and turn to beautification, hopefully in time for Masters.”

The community showed out with hundreds of people coming to get trees. Riley Morris, a marketing associate at Jordan Trotter, believes the community wants to focus on getting the CSRA back to what it was.

“I think the Area of the CSRA is just very community-driven, and you know we see everybody hurting, and we all just want to do something to give back, and it’s not just for individual homes,” said Riley Morris, Marking Associate. “It’s for the area as a whole, and I think we all want to see our area thrive and do well.”

One volunteer, Mary Bennett Dudley, was happy to give back at the event,

“I just love it seeing people smile and all that. And like just seeing all the joy of it,” said Mary Bennett Dudley, a volunteer.

Currently, they are in the talks of doing another tree giveaway, but nothing is concrete yet. When we find out about one, we will let you know.
