SAVANNAH, Ga. — The excitement of the fourteenth week of Friday Night Blitz unfolded with thrilling matchups across the region. Here’s a highlight of the action-packed evening.
In a commanding display, Benedictine kicked off the GHSA AAAA playoffs with a decisive 42-17 victory over East Forsyth at Memorial Stadium. Although the teams were neck and neck at halftime, the Cadets surged ahead in the third quarter. Quarterback Stephen Cannon made a pivotal play with a 39-yard touchdown pass, which shifted the momentum firmly in Benedictine’s favor.
The Cadets advance to face the Cass Colonels on Nov. 21 in the next round.
Bethesda Academy struck quickly, scoring on its opening drive in just three plays to set the tone in a 32-14 semifinal win over Greenwood Christian.
With the victory, Bethesda advances to the SCISA 2A state championship on Nov. 22, where they’ll face Pee Dee Academy after their 34-33 win against Hilton Head Prep.
Jenkins High School’s post-season run stayed alive in the final four minutes against Whitewater in the first round of the Class 3A state playoff, with a final score of 50-45.
Whitewater’s ground game continued to dominate the Jenkins defense, before the Warriors stormed back.
Junior Jaylon Elliot sparked the comeback as he made his way to the endzone breaking loose for a rushing touchdown that evened the score 21-21.
This win punched the Warriors their ticket to the second round of the Class 3A playoffs, the same point where their post season was cut short in a loss to the Stephenson Jaguars last season.
Jenkins is set to face off against the No. 12 Peach County Trojans on Nov. 21, 2025 at 7 p.m.
