SAVANNAH, Ga. (WASV) — Local jazz greats came together Sunday to play for a good cause.

The legendary Teddy Adams took to the stage with his band, featuring the soulful sounds of Huxsie Scott, for the 7th annual benefit concert for Camp Lighthouse.

Camp Lighthouse is a place where every kid has a chance to experience the fun of summer camp. Funds raised provide support for the camp’s programs put on by the Martin de Porres Society each summer. News 3’s Kim Gusby served as the mistress of ceremonies.

Boad member Lillian Grant-Baptiste hopes people took away the importance of supporting these types of activities. “All of [the proceeds] will go back into that camp. And our young people, they need that as a bridge from the summer back into the academic year. This is an awesome time for the community to just come together.”

The event was held at Congregation Mickve Israel again this year.
