GARDEN CITY, Ga. — Garden City Fire Rescue has forged a new partnership with two neighboring emergency response agencies, enhancing their collaborative efforts.
This automatic aid agreement sees Garden City Fire Rescue (GCFR) joining forces with the Chatham County Fire Department (CCFD) and the Port Wentworth Fire Department (PWFD). The collaboration is designed to facilitate the sharing of resources across different jurisdictions during emergencies.
Under the terms of this agreement, Garden City Fire Rescue will deploy Truck 202 and Battalion 201 to respond to structure fires, technical rescues, and vehicle accidents involving entrapment or fire within the areas covered by Chatham Fire Stations 10 and 12.
In a reciprocal arrangement, the Chatham County Fire Department will extend its assistance to Garden City by tackling structure fires occurring within the coverage area of Garden City Station 2.
Furthermore, Garden City Fire Rescue will support the Port Wentworth Fire Department by responding to all structure fires in its jurisdiction. In exchange, the Port Wentworth Fire Department will lend its expertise in handling structure fires within the vicinity of Garden City Station 1.
“Stronger partnerships mean safer communities, and we are proud to stand alongside our neighboring fire departments in serving the people who count on us every day,” said GCFR on social media.
