NWE YORK, N.Y. () — Sunday, the Tony Awards turn into the HamilTONY awards once again.
The Pulitzer Prize-winning play won 11 Tony Awards in 2016, including Best Musical. And at the 2025 Tony Awards, the original cast will reunite to honor the show’s 10th anniversary.
The musical’s official Instagram account has posted behind-the-scenes videos of the cast hugging and laughing, edited to clips of show songs like, “You’ll Be Back” and “One Last Time.”
Scheduled to appear in the anniversary performance are show creator Lin-Manuel Miranda (Alexander Hamilton), Leslie Odom Jr. (Aaron Burr) — who just spent a few weeks teaching at the Savannah College of Art and Design and recently announced his limited-run return to Broadway in the role he originated later this year — Daveed Diggs (Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson), Phillipa Soo (Eliza Schuyler Hamilton), Renée Elise Goldsberry (Angelica Schuyler), Jonathan Groff (King George III), Christopher Jackson (George Washington), Jasmine Cephas Jones (Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds) and Okieriete Onadowan (Hercules Mulligan). The only original cast member now slated to appear is Anthony Ramos (John Laurens and Philip Hamilton). Oscar-winner Ariana DeBose (“The Bullet”) is scheduled to appear too.
The Tony Awards will stream on Paramount+.
