ATLANTA (WSAV) — Across Georgia, prominent leaders are expressing their condolences and sharing memories following the death of Senator Lindsey Graham.
Governor Brian Kemp reflected on the loss, stating, “Senator Lindsey Graham was a patriot, a dedicated public servant, and a dear friend. His devotion to our nation, unwavering faith in its potential, and firm defense of its principles made him a formidable presence in Washington. Marty, the girls, and I offer our prayers and heartfelt sympathy to his family, colleagues, and our neighbors in South Carolina at this challenging time.”
Senator Jon Ossoff conveyed his sorrow, sharing, “I join in mourning Senator Lindsey Graham and extend my sincerest condolences to the Senator’s family, friends, and staff. Senator Graham devoted his life to the United States, from his service in the U.S. Air Force to representing South Carolina in both the U.S. House and Senate. Lindsey was an enthusiastic leader deeply committed to South Carolina. May his memory be a source of comfort.”
In a message on Sunday, Senator Raphael Warnock expressed his grief, stating, “I am profoundly saddened by the passing of my colleague, Senator Lindsey Graham. Known for his strong faith, he served the people of South Carolina with passion and determination. I pray for his family and loved ones as they face this significant loss.”
Graham passed away on Saturday night following a ‘brief and sudden illness.’ At 71, he had been a steadfast representative for South Carolina in the Senate since 2002.
