MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Girl Scout cookie season is once again upon us, a time eagerly anticipated by cookie enthusiasts nationwide. This year, there’s an extra treat in store with the introduction of a new addition to the classic lineup.
Joining the ranks of beloved cookies is the Exploremores, a delightful treat featuring a creamy center that combines the rich flavors of chocolate, marshmallow, and toasted almonds. The Girl Scouts of the USA have likened these cookies to a “rocky road ice cream–inspired sandwich cookie,” promising a unique twist for cookie lovers.
“Exploremores embody the adventurous spirit that is central to every Girl Scout,” stated the Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama (GSSA) in a recent press release. This exciting new cookie complements a roster of fan favorites, including Thin Mints, Samoas, and Tagalongs. It’s worth noting that cookie names can vary depending on regional differences.
According to the GSSA, the Girl Scout cookie season represents the “largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world.” Beyond raising funds for initiatives like community service projects, troop travel, and summer camp, the cookie sales are a vital tool in teaching young girls essential entrepreneurial skills.
