TELFORD, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Grandview baseball team had a day full of excitement and anticipation as they embarked on a significant milestone.
On Tuesday morning, the Eagles set off on their inaugural journey to the TMSAA state baseball tournament in Chattanooga, marking a historic moment for the team.
Later that evening, they took to the field for their debut game against Highland Rim Middle School from Fayetteville, Tennessee.

This season has been nothing short of remarkable for the Eagles, who hail from Telford, Tennessee. They boast an impressive 19-1 record, underscoring their dominance on the diamond.
Fueled by a formidable offensive lineup, the team scored an astounding 302 runs throughout the season. Their path to the state tournament saw them secure hard-earned victories over Unicoi and Norris middle schools.
The team lost in the opening round of the state tournament 5-2. They will end the state tournament with a game in the consolation bracket.
