In Champaign County, Illinois, a startling statistic from 2024 underlines a pressing issue: one in four girls and one in 13 boys in the U.S. are victims of child sexual abuse before reaching the age of 18. In response, a local organization is channeling new funding to address and hopefully eliminate this scourge.

Rape, Advocacy, Counseling, and Education Services, known as RACES, extends its supportive services to victims of all ages across four counties in Central Illinois. With a recent grant, RACES aims to tackle one of the most critical public health challenges facing society today.
