GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — The entire world is counting down the minutes until 2025 on Tuesday, and families in Greeneville were treated to an all-ages party downtown while waiting to ring in the new year.

The town’s 11th annual Midnight on Main celebration features several activities and performances for visitors to enjoy. A live DJ named Lee Cash, a kids’ zone, food trucks and more line the area of Depot and Main streets.

This year’s theme is “Yeti to Party”. All of the festivities lead up to the main event at midnight, where residents can experience a ball drop here in the Tri-Cities. A 10 p.m. drop also takes place for the younger children.

The Town of Greeneville’s media and marketing specialist Christina Potts said this is one of the largest New Year’s Eve celebrations in the area because it’s for all ages.

“So that makes it a little bit different because many of the parties that you hear about are 21 and over,” she said. “So we want to make sure everyone can participate. All ages are welcome and we try to have something that will appeal to all of them.”

Visitors were also able to write down their 2025 resolutions for city leaders to then place inside the ball that will drop at midnight. A fireworks show will follow the ball drop, Potts said.

Live music is playing across the downtown area: inside of the Gentry, Nickel Ridge Winery and Rock City Tap and Lounge.
