ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (WJHL) — On Friday, Hampton High School buzzed with activity as it held its beloved annual Senior Class Yard Sale.
Isaiah Belcher, a senior and an assistant at the event, shared that all the items available are generously donated by local community members.
The sale featured a wide array of goods, ranging from home decor items to just about anything that could fit into a bag, according to Belcher.
“This event is a cherished tradition for us,” Belcher remarked. “I’m truly grateful for the overwhelming support from the community, whether people are donating, purchasing, or simply lending a hand. It really means a lot to have everyone involved, finding great deals and supporting our cause.”
Belcher highlighted that the proceeds from the sale are directed towards benefiting the students and enhancing school programs. This year, the funds are earmarked to help make the upcoming prom a memorable event.
“It’s like prom expenses, club expenses, you know, other expenses that we have.”
Items not sold are given to local families, churches and school clothes closets.
“And I’m thankful for everybody that’s donated and bought everything,” Belcher said. “I just really appreciate everything. I’m sure I’m not the only one that feels that way. I’m sure all of our students and all of our seniors feel that way.”
The yard sale will continue on Saturday from 8 am to 2 pm in the Van Huss-White Gymnasium at Hampton High School.
