HAMPTON COUNTY, S.C. – Authorities in Hampton are delving into a shooting incident that took place early on Wednesday morning. The investigation is being led by the Hampton Police Department (HPD).

HPD reports that they received a call about gunfire around 4:30 a.m. in an area locally referred to as “the bottom.” Officers are currently probing two related shooting incidents.

The shootings targeted homes located on David Drive and Woody Lane in Hampton. To aid in the investigation, HPD detectives have enlisted support from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division’s (SLED) Lowcountry and Crime Scene units.

According to HPD, the shootings seem to have been aimed specifically at certain targets, and they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the wider community.

Residents with any relevant information or surveillance footage are encouraged to contact HPD at 803-943-2421.
