Haven of Mercy 'home' to many for the holidays

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Haven of Mercy extends a warm invitation to their annual Christmas dinner, offering a welcoming place for those who may not have anywhere else to celebrate the holiday.

On Christmas Day, the ministry will serve thousands of meals, providing warmth and nourishment to those in need. Located in downtown Johnson City, Haven of Mercy also offers shelter to 75 men and 25 women who are seeking assistance.

Chris Bowers, a former resident who now lives independently, cherishes returning for the Christmas gathering to connect with others. He expressed to News Channel 11 that it feels just like coming home for the holidays.
