ORLANDO, Fla. – The new year has just begun, yet more than a dozen eateries in Central Florida have already faced temporary closure following inspections by health authorities, state records reveal.
The documents indicate these establishments were cited for various infractions, including improper food storage, evidence of rodent activity, and plumbing deficiencies.
Particularly concerning were the findings at several venues plagued by cockroach infestations. A notable case is Farandula Pizzeria in Tampa, where inspectors reportedly found hundreds of deceased cockroaches during their assessment.

The inspection report detailed the discovery of over 700 dead cockroaches, along with approximately 150 living ones, during the visit.
But aside from that pizzeria, nearly all of these restaurants were ultimately allowed to reopen upon a follow-up inspection.
